Upper South News – March 2017

Message from Denise

Kia Ora Upper South whanau. Wow – March already! It always seems so busy starting the new year with school, routines, sports and life’s commitments so hopefully now we get to take a breath and look at the term and what it has to offer.

March is special as it holds Foster Care Awareness Week and a chance to celebrate some wonderful carers at the Foster Care Excellence Awards in Wellington on the 10th March.  Many events around the country will be held during this week 5th – 11th March to help raise awareness of the great and important role you do.

Our region has some really useful workshops this term and I encourage you to build a good caregiving skill foundation by endeavouring to commit to at least one a year, even if you have been caregiving for some time.

As always, I look forward to meeting you at one of the many opportunities that we try to offer throughout the year.

Nga mihi

We have had a great start to the year with one training already completed. Make sure you keep an eye out for future trainings as they are filled with knowledge and information around caring for our special people. It is also a great way to connect with other caregivers.

The rest of Term One training workshops are still open for you to register. Please follow this link to the training calendar and registrations
