Nga mihi mahana ki a koutou katoa
(Warm greetings to you all)
On 4 April I facilitated the Identity and Belonging workshop in Whangarei. The learning from the workshop emphasised the level of grief and loss felt by the three main parties in the care situation and all participants agreed this process is not easy on anyone. We had a great venue and many thanks to the happy helpers for the tables, dishes and helping with the kai iti (morning tea).
The Regional Coordinator team were in intensive training for three full days in April. I love being with this passionate group of people who have made me a part of their team so quickly. We said goodbye to our Auckland North Regional Coordinator, Sasha, so I’ll be delivering some workshops in that area until her replacement is trained.
I’m very excited to be introducing a brand new workshop (The Importance of Play) and three rewritten and upgraded workshops (Building a Secure Base, Understanding and Supporting Behaviour: Connection before Correction, and Child Development) . They all provide a therapeutic lens for understanding how to support/work with tamariki (children) who have experienced trauma so book in for the workshops and let’s up skill together to provide the best care we can.
Here’s a fun quiz, who can tell me what beach this is? CLUE: It has sand like powdered sugar and it’s a 3 hour drive from Whangarei.
