Nga mihi mahana ki a koutou katoa nga kaitiaki a Tamariki Mokopuna

(Warm greetings to all you Carers of Tamariki Mokopuna)

May has been all about play, play and more play.  The two Importance of Play workshops I’ve facilitated since last Snippets were received with enthusiasm by all participants.

The P(Playfulness) A(Acceptance) C(Curiosity) E(Empathy) approach makes a lot of sense in this workshop but is also threaded through the three rewritten modules soon to be delivered in Te Tai Tokerau.

‘Create the Environment for Play’

A massive thanks to our soup chef – you know who you are – at our Whangarei workshop and thanks to all those who help clear tables away at the end of the day, it saves my back and a lot of time.

Thanks also to all who supported Fostering Kids NZ at the participating Z Stations for the month of May, every bit helps and we are hugely grateful to Porowini Station for giving us the opportunity to receive some additional funds.  Whatever we get from this campaign will go toward a regional Hui to be held March 2019 in Whangarei. So watch this space for more details.

Thinking about Child Developmental needs

Thanks again for all you do to keep Tamariki Mokopuna safe, happy and learning.  Please Friend me on Facebook for some great material to help enhance your Caregiving experience.

TRAINING:

We are running two of the newly written workshops in June; Child Development in Kaikohe on Wednesday 13 June 2018, and Building Secure Attachments in Kaitaia on Tuesday 26 June. All these workshops incorporate the latest research and practice around trauma informed care. We would love to see you at one of these workshops. Registration is required, please follow this link to register or contact Christine on 0800 100 849 or caregivertraining@nullfosteringkids.org.nz

All training start at 9am.  Please arrive 10 minutes early to ensure we are able to start promptly.  This is to ensure the validity of the programme, that you are able to get the most out of the programme and that you do not interrupt the training.   We also request that unless really urgent you stay until the end, 3pm.
