Update to benefits

If you are receiving the Orphan’s Benefit, Unsupported Child’s Benefit or Caregiver Allowance you can expect there to be two increases in upcoming months.  These increases will happen automatically.  From the 1 April 2018 there will be a CPI increase  and from 1 July 2018 there will be a further increase.  In total, the rates of Orphan’s Benefit, Unsupported Child’s Benefit and Caregiver Allowance will all increase by $20.31 a week.

Clothing Allowance

Nothing official has come out stating the new rates for the Orphan’s Benefit and Unsupported Child’s Benefit that will take effect on the 1 July 2018.    However, indications are that it will likely be paid at the same rate as the 1 April 2018 Caregiver Allowance.
