Together with Oranga Tamariki, we are very excited to be delivering a new 3 hour workshop Discussion Session – Understanding the National Care Standards. This workshop is being delivered throughout the country in Term 1.
This Discussion Session provides an outline of the key changes that caregivers will experience as a result of the new National Care Standards. These new regulations set out the standard of care that every child and young person needs in order to do well and be well. It also sets out the support that caregivers can expect to receive. Caregivers affected by the National Care Standards include; Whānau, Kin and Foster Parents who have tamariki placed with them by an iwi social service provider, Oranga Tamariki or agency.
This session introduces the key messages of the National Care Standards that came into effect on 1st July 2019. You will have the opportunity to discuss and explore them.
