We are excited about some new changes to the National Caregiver Training Programme (NCTP) training programme. The workshops are designed to empower and equip you with the knowledge you need to help children thrive.
Research shows that when students become reflective about the teaching and learning process, they are strengthening their own capacity to learn. Our newly updated three core workshops will now include a two hour follow up session, held four to six weeks after the workshop, to reflect and reinforce the learning. These Follow Up Sessions will be a chance for you to reflect on the content and how it can work for you and the children you care for. It will be practical, somewhere you can ask questions, go over anything you didn’t understand and spend some time reflecting on your situation while discussing with peers.
The three core workshops that have been updated to include the latest learning in therapeutic parenting:
- Understanding and Supporting Behaviour
- Child Development
- Building Secure Attachments
For caregivers that find attending day workshops challenging there will be more evening and weekend workshop opportunities as well as more two hour discussion sessions each term too.
Next term’s training schedule will be out soon, we look forward to seeing you at a workshop or discussion session soon.
