Kia ora all
This month kicks off with a really important focus… You!
It starts with Sunday’s ‘Children’s Day’ (4 March 2018). Click on this link to find out what events you and your tamariki can be involved in your area.
Fostercare Awareness week then follows. This is a week to highlight and appreciate all of you; the wonderful caregivers; Whether you provide emergency, interim, transitional, permanent, whanau / kin care, or family home care. We want to celebrate and be thankful for all the work that you do.
You change lives when you provide a loving secure base for children and young people. This creates positive attachment and connections. Your acceptance of who they are, empathising with their hurts allows them a place where healing can start. Lives can be changed!
“Here’s to you…..THANKS”

This term in the region, we have Carer Families in Palmerston North on 13 March, Safety & Prevention in Levin on 22 March as well as Identity & Belonging in Johnsonville on 12 April. There are still some places available on all of these workshops, but please register early to ensure you get a place. We’d love to see you at one of the workshops.
Upskilling is such an important part of caregiving. It will give you tools and strategies as well as connect you with other caregivers.
