As I write this, summer is still with us believe it or not! Here’s hoping we don’t get the cyclones of previous years in April.
Acknowledgement must be paid to those families who suffered great loss on Friday 15 March. Such ugliness on our beloved shores is very hard to comprehend. My heart and prayers go out to everyone who was touched by this tragedy. “Waiho I te toipoto, kaua I te toiroa” Let us keep close together, not far apart.
Children’s Day and Foster Care Awareness Week
There were celebrations for these throughout the country. Caregivers/Foster parents were honored for the work they do with children in care.
Thanks to Barnardos and the other agencies who came together to celebrate Children’s Day on Monday 4 March in Gisborne at the Barnardos office. I enjoyed meeting caregivers, parents and other professionals there.
