It’s a beautiful spring day as I write this which gets me thinking of Christmas and the next school holidays already! There is such a lot happening in this final term. Here are some of them:
Excellence in Fostercare Awards (EFCA)

Papa Kainga Foster Care Support – In home monthly visits by ECE trained educators for under school age children. Contact Kathryn Hawkes firstname.lastname@example.org or 0800 250 052 ext 3 to learn more about this wonderful service which is available for caregivers with children in care in the Tauranga, Rotorua and Taupo regions.
Tricia Corin, Benefits Advocate for GRG has assisted many grandparents receive the entitlements they are due. Tricia is a passionate campaigner for this growing group of caregivers. Please contact Tricia through the GRG website or 0800GRANDS, 0800 472 637 (for those outside Auckland).
FASD (Fetal Alcohol) Caregiver Support Group in Tauranga:
There has been a lot of interest in setting up a group for caregivers with children affected by alcohol in the womb. Milli Lovell is organising the knowledgeable presenter Dr Valerie McGinn to speak in Tauranga on Friday 7 December – details of time and venue to follow. Bay of Plenty (Tauranga) Support Group for all types of caregivers on the first Friday of each month 10.00am till 12.00pm at the Hillier Centre, 31 Gloucester Rd, Mt Maunganui. Come and share a cuppa, receive support and awhi (cherish) each other in the wonderful work you do.
