Kia ora koutou/Greetings everyone!

I trust you are all geared up for winter and that you will be warm, dry and cosy for the next three months.

“For the Greater Good”

This was a symposium for the Social Service sector I attended and was held in Tauranga on 14 May.  Many agencies were represented including the Mayor for Western Bay Gary Webber and the Labour MP Jan Tinetti who both talked about closer collaboration within the sector and working together. Jan mentioned less competition for funding was also a priority in central government.

TRAINING

Working With Adolescents.

Thanks to the active participation to all of the Tauranga participants, we had a lively workshop on Thursday 17 May.  We came to the understanding that for many adolescents this was a time of brain, physical, emotional and social upheaval often added to by past developmental trauma.  With this in mind we set about discussing appropriate ways of responding to their behaviour as well as learning what schools and the justice system can/cannot do and where to go for help.

Please check our Training Calendar and be sure to register for the other workshops offered – Book with Christine 0800 100 849.   Look forward to meeting you there!

All training start at 9am.  Please arrive 10 minutes early to ensure we are able to start promptly.  This is to ensure the validity of the programme, that you are able to get the most out of the programme and that you do not interrupt the training.   We also request that unless really urgent you stay until the end, 3pm.
