Kia Ora koutou/Greetings everyone!
As I write this the summer continues. Hopefully we don’t get the cyclones of previous March/Aprils.
Children’s Day and Foster Care Awareness Week have come and gone with all sorts of celebrations around the country. I was great to see and hear a number of you take part.
“The Big Splash” Rainbow Springs, Rotorua. The Bay of Plenty Fostercare Association once again organised this in conjunction with Fostering Kids NZ on 2 March. This was a great day out for young and not so young. Families attended from all around our Central North region. There was lots of mixing, mingling, running around by the young ones and screams of exhilaration as we all went on The Big Splash ride. Thank you to all those who helped to make this such a success!
Acknowledgement must be paid to those families who suffered great loss on Friday 15 March. Such ugliness on our beloved shores is very hard to comprehend. My heart and prayers go out to everyone who was touched by this tragedy. “Waiho I te toipoto, kaua I te toiroa” Let us keep close together, not far apart.
