Kia Ora all
It has been a busy month and I am privileged to be able to be in the position to support caregivers. Some of the main issues for the month have been around permanency and trying to navigate the changes through the Special Guardianship process. We will continue to keep you updated on how this is going.
We have a great venue, which is SKYWAY Z out by the airport.
This station has high numbers of people stopping and purchasing from, which is great for us.
We still have plenty of bags from Foster Hope (made up of contributions from people and businesses) for new children coming into care. Contact Debbie Guymer (Hamilton) or myself if you would like any.

Dates for Diary
Our Hui held in Hamilton on the 26th of May was really positive. The feedback from some of the participants was that it was inspiring and a comment on the Facebook page was encouraging…“Thank you for the Hui today. Thoroughly enjoyed our korero and meeting other carers. Truly enlightening. I’m reinvigorated…. Can’t wait for the next Regional Hui and for the DDP model to start in Waikato-Hauraki”.
It was a privilege to have Rob Surtees from our national office giving an overview of the DDP model.
This was also a great opportunity to further develop relations with local iwi.
