Kia ora and Ka Kite ano (Hello and I’ll see you again)

As my last week with Fostering Kids NZ has been and gone, I am grateful for the opportunity to have been in this privileged role of supporting caregivers.

I just want to say a huge thank you to Fostering Kids New Zealand for the experiences, the learning and growth within my professional development over the years I have been working with them.

I have loved meeting such amazing caregivers and your commitment to the children in your care is very heartening.

A statement that I love to finish off is by Richard Rose:

“Children need to understand their history if they are to move on in their lives and if we do not collect this information there is every chance this could be lost forever.”

Support Groups

Waikato/Hauraki Family & Foster Care Association

We are having our AGM from 10.00am – 1.00pm on Wednesday 12 September at Trust Waikato in the Puna Kaupapa meeting room. Light refreshments will be provided.

Our Hamilton Cuppa and Catch-up support group is every 4th Wednesday of the month, the next being on 22 August at BK on Greenwood Street in Hamilton.

We have also been accepted for the Bags for Good at four Warehouse Stores, so it would be fabulous if anyone shopping at these stores could support us by placing a token in support of our Association and our members. The following stores are those supporting us, The Hillcrest Warehouse, The Base Warehouse, Te Awamutu Warehouse and Morrinsville Warehouse.

Our Term three workshops are now open for registration with the first workshop being held this week on 2 August. This term we are running Identity & Belonging, Teamwork and Safety and Prevention in the area Please follow this link to find out more and register for one of the workshops or contact Christine on 0800 100 849. We’d love to see you there.
