Tena koe to all. Firstly, I want to thank all the caregivers that made it to our Celebration Dinner during Foster Care Awareness week. I have included some photos of the night, where everyone’s feedback showed that they had lots of fun and really enjoyed themselves.  Huge thanks to all that donated prizes on the night….Z Energy, Snow Planet, Bunnings, Good Home, Kmart, L’Oreal, Fiona, Daryl and My Food Bag.

Celebration Dinner

It is also with mixed emotions that I announce that I am heading off overseas with my little family permanently. My last day as Regional Coordinator for Fostering Kids NZ will be on 10 April.  I want to thank all the wonderful caregivers that I have met over the last two years at events and trainings.  You are all amazing for what you do for our tamariki (children) in care.  I will be holding an informal farewell at the local Columbus Café next to Mitre 10 Mega, 260 Oteha Valley Rd, Albany on Thursday 5 April, 10.00am – 12.00pm.  Their prices are quite reasonable.  You are welcome to pop along during this time.  A new Regional Coordinator will be appointed in due course and they will introduce themselves.

Please make sure you are kept up-to-date with events and information, by joining our facebook page, Fostercare Auckland Support

North (in conjunction with my farewell)

Thursday 5 April, Columbus Café next to Mitre 10 Mega, 260 Oteha Valley Rd, Albany at 10.00am – 12.00pm.  Please RSVP to Sasha Blackwell as the Association has kindly offered to use this event as my farewell also.

Please contact Yasser El Shall for events and keep an eye out on our Facebook page.

Please contact Judith Hall 027 486 6883 or or Sally Mowbray-Lee Sally (021)141 2155 or (09) 636 5667 for events and keep an eye out on our Facebook page.

The term two training schedule will be open for registration early April.  You will receive an email link to the new calendar, once it has been released.  Upskilling is such an important part of caregiving.  It will give you tools and strategies as well as connect you with other caregivers.

We still have places available for youth (aged 16 – 18) from the Auckland region to attend the L’Oréal Face your Future event held on Thursday 19 and Firday 20 April 2018. Places are on a first come first served basis, so don’t leave it to the last minute. You can find an application form and more information about the event here. For further queries please contact Jennifer Kinsella, or (04) 974 8204.
